Lumion: Electroliquid Aggregation

My Concept: Simple ideas combine to create complex results, thereby defying the greatest of expectations

SANAA and Lebbeus Woods Concepts

Lebbeus Woods:

1. Deconstructivism through complexity
2. An architecture that disregards the ground plane, terrestrial reference. Defies gravity
3. Mechanical movement, buildings that rotate, that inhabit, that occupy
4. Apocalyptic architecture-response to war torn building fabric, restoration, demolition or integration
5. architecture formed by social or political conflict

SANAA:

1. Weightlessness-arrangement of forms that displays balance or harmony
2. simplistic/minimal ideas of purity through clarity and simplicity
3. flexibility/fluidity through spaces, circulations and interactions
4. 4D; experimental quality greater than the form itself
5. pure geometric forms;true, regular, white, the void as a method of visual connectivity between volumes

Cross Section showing all the layers. The criss-crossing triangles in the bottom layer are composed of carbon fibre, a really strong material (a custom texture to show its weaving).

A section to show the "net" that surrounds the bottom level. The floor finish is red velvet carpet that is reminiscent of concert halls.

A picture of the final product. The wings are a major aspect of this model. It is made out of glass and white steel pipes. The facade is made out of white stucco and the interior is composed of multicoloured plaster walls. The tiles in Blumenthal's workroom is made of a custom texture (lustrous).

Section 2 Wk 2 Draft-Stairs

This is the second section that I have chosen to model. The word for the top floor is "divine" and the bottom is "vivace" for Heston Blumenthal and Steinways and Sons respectively. I chose "divine" to describe Blumenthal's creations because his presentation is AMAZING and it would taste heavenly. In order to reflect that, I've tried to model something that resembles angel wings spreading from the sides and back."Vivace" is a musical term that means "lively" and the music that uses this tempo is usually in beats of three. To reflect that, I have tried to construct my bottom section out of triangles. Although it is not possible to see it in its facade, its section will reveal the strong support that will be provided by the triangles. To make the two connect, I have constructed two sets of wings also with triangles and brought them down to the middle where they share a two level show room.
